“Perfect - 5 Stars!Really loved our first visit to Nerja and staying at this hotel made our holiday even more special. Superb location by the beach with secure access to the promenade using a pin code and only a 15 minute walk into the main tourist part of town.Staff were superb, friendly and professional.Bedroom, bar area, restaurant, pool and hotel location all perfect.Food was delicious, breakfast and dinner on a half board basis. We didn’t want to eat anywhere else but at lunchtime enjoyed tapas in town mostly.I certainly hope to return to Nerja and stay here again. Also plan to visit other RIU hotels knowing the high standards offered. Thank you to everyone at the RIU Monica for making us feel really welcome.”

Buen hotel ,buen servicio ,el buffet muy bueno ,todos los días cambiaban algunas de las comidas , además muy buenas un poco caras las bebidas pero la comida y el servicio bien , también el desayuno que también cambiaban algunas cosas cada día ,las habitaciones muy bien ,música en vivo casi todos los días y la playa a escasos metros del jardín del hotel que tenía acceso directo a esta ,un fallo el no tener aparcamiento

A very good hotelCould not fault anything, all the staff were polite, helpful and cheerful. The buffet was very good every item at the right temperature. The health and safety measures were respected by everyone. The room was very clean and very comfortable, on the top floor so a perfect view of the sea. Would certainly recommend staying at this hotel. We was so impressed with the chain that have booked to go to the one in chiclana.

La ubicación del hotel es ideal. Las habitaciones amplias, limpia, la cama cómoda.La piscina es de agua salada, disfrutas del baño viendo el mar.Por lo general muy bien, excepto por las normas de protocolo COVID.Me ha sorprendido ver que no hay turnos para comer. Hay horas punta en la que la gente se amontona.No mantienen la distancia de seguridad.Al ser buffet todos cogemos las mismas pinzas para servirnos, el agua está en jarras que manipulamos todos...En la piscina no se desinfectan las tumbonas entre cliente y cliente. Al final de la tarde, se desinfectan todas, pero durante el día no lo vi.Eso sí, te toman la temperatura cada vez que entras al restaurante y hay gel hidroalcóholico por todas partes.También eché en falta más limpieza en los baños de la piscina.Tenemos que ser más precavidos ante esta situación que nos está tocando vivir.Pero aún así, la estancia ha sido muy buena y estamos deseando volver.

Un precioso hotel, muy bien situado.Cumplen a la perfección con las medidas de seguridad: gel higienizante por todos lados (ascensores, baños, pasillos, entrada...), toman la temperatura a la entrada del restaurante a todos los clientes, guantes y gel en el comedor; incluso el socorrista limpia todas las zonas comunes a cada instante incluyendo hamacas y sombrillas...Desayuno y cena adecuados, los sandwich mixtos hechos al momento en la plancha, deliciosos!! Recomiendo pedir una jarra de café que el café de máquina.Las cenas variadas y ricas, consumiciones no excesivamente caras.El hotel tiene una salida directa a la playa y está situado muy cerca del centro de Nerja.

Precioso hotel a pie de playa pero para ir en condiciones normales. La piscina por la tarde estaba completa y el restaurante Buffett tanto por la mañana como por la noche a reventar, las personas yendo en masa a por la comida, la única medida adoptada es que te toman la temperatura con una maquinita en el brazo... Hoteles cerrando y otros sin respetar los aforos...

* El hotel ubicación de 10;A 10 min andando del balcón de Europa.Nada más bajar está la playa, pegado a las hamacas de la piscina, una maravilla. La piscina está muy bien.* Wifi de 10, de los hoteles que estuve el mejor. Funciona en habitaciones, zonas comunes, piscina... no falla una pasada.* El hotel solo tiene desayuno y cena no dan servicio de comida, es solo adultos, la comida está bien... muy repetitiva ya que fuimos 9 días y cada dos días se repetía. Desayuno: tórtillas, huevos, bacon... una zona de fruta( más fruta para la cena que para el desayuno) supongo que para que la gente no se lo lleve para media mañana... bolleria poca, tostadas, todos los días hacen sándwich mixtos y embutido, jamón dos dias y para cenar.Cenas: una zona de ensaladas y gazpachos/salmorejos, una zona solo de pizzas y pasta, un pesacado, una carne y algo de rebozado. Unas lasañas y algo de verdura. Mogollón de fruta helados y los postres siempre los mismos bizcochos y algunas tartas repetidas siempre.hay una terraza en el restaurante, nunca hay sitio siempre hay que esperar. Asik siempre hemos comido dentro.* Por las noches va siempre un cantante hasta las 23:30 a la terraza. Una noche nos callo una colilla encendida me voy con una ampolla. Supuestamente habían tirado más de un objeto no sé si tomarían medidas. El show está bien, te tomas algo y pasas el rato ya que por esa zona alrededorDel hotel no hay nada que hacer como no te vayas al balcón de Europa, que hay puestos y bastante ambiente.*El hotel está limpio, nosotras al llegar se me metió una chancla debajo de la cama al mirar había dos pañuelos tirados, cuando nos fuimos mire porSi me dejaba algo y los pañuelos seguían.. cambio de toallas cada día, gel/champú en un dispensador...* Tema Covid... gel en habitaciones y ascensores, te toman temperatura cada día al entrar a desayunar o cenar. Pero luego estamos en mesas muy juntos... y cuando es hora de levantarse.. hay demasiada gente, hay unas flechas en elSuelo que nadie respeta y nadie dice nada. Mascarilla al levantarse al coger, hay guantes de plástico no obligatorios, todos tocamosLas mismas pinzas Para coger la comida. En laPiscina desinfecta el socorrista las hamacas, y limpian los suelos al final del día.* parking te dan un mando entras y sales está bien. No es cubierto pero está dentro del hotel.Es de pago, no es muy caro ya que por laZona no hay sitio. Accedes con un código al igual que para salir o entrar a la playa por la piscina. El hotel tiene muy buenas instalaciones. Las medidas frente al Covid muy buenas, mucho control, limpieza excelente, la comida buenísima en variedad y calidad y el personal muy amable y muy profesional, sobre todo Miguel Ángel el recepcionista y los camareros del Buffet y del bar de la piscina que también tiene una comida muy buena. Repetiremos sin duda.

Todo muy bien, el personal muy bueno y amable, la comida rica en todos los lados hay desinfectante y en la picina también el socorrista desinfecta todas las tumbonas, otro positivo es que tiene muy buenas vistas al marY una playa pequeñita pero muy divertida al tener olas más de 2 metros. Lo único malo es que el parking es muy pequeño y encima hay 2 plazas que es imposible de utilizar ya que están muy mal situadas.

La atención de todo el personal es magnífica. Las habitaciones, normalistas. Las comidas normales para lo que es un buffet de hotel pero, lo peor es que a los dos días de estancia, dejaron de poner zumo natural de naranja y la explicación que dieron es que unos días lo ponen y otros no, vamos, como los pimientos de padrón . Las medidas anticovid, correctas.

En teoría "Hay parking privado en el establecimiento. No es necesario reservar." Pero esto es un engaño. La realidad es que sólo tienen unas 10 plazas de aparcamiento en la calle frente al hotel. Encontrar aparcamiento en Nerja es muy difícil.Otra cosa bastante fea (y no sé si legal) es que a pesar de tener media pensión nos cobraron por el agua de la cena (a 2 € la botella de medio litro).

La ubicación y comodidad del hotel en general estupendas. La comida bastante bien. Por mejorará pondría la limpieza en profundidad de la habitación ya que al llegar y coger las perchas estaban sucias y con la situación que tenemos es algo que debería mejorarse. La protección contra cogido buena a excepción de la piscina dónde no se señala si las hamacas han sido desinfectadas o no.

Conozco bien todas estas grandes cadenas hoteleras como Iberostar, Meliá, Hipotels o Riu por supuesto.Este hotel Riu Monica en concreto tiene bastantes cosas malas, que no le hacen merecedor de 4 estrellas y unas cuantas cosas buenas.Lo MALO:- La comida es mala, mala, pero mala de narices. Escasa en calidad y variedad. El pescado a la plancha del buffet era tilapia. En un hotel de 4 estrellas! Qué va a ser lo siguiente? Fletán? Halibut? Vamos por favor. Los postres, para tirarlos a la basura.- No tienen room service. Por la covid dicen que lo han quitado. Pero yo no le veo mucho sentido.- El parking. El parking del hotel siempre lleno y con lista de espera de 3 días según me dijeron en recepción. No hay aparcamiento fácil en los alrededores.- La reforma que le han hecho al hotel parece que lo han dejado a medias.Lo BUENO:- Adults only. Es un buen punto por la tranquilidad y silencio.- Habitaciones amplias.- A pie de playa literalmente.- Cerca de restaurantes, supermercados y resto de servicios.- Limpieza y atención correctas.Pienso que hay otras opciones mejores en la zona como el Parador o el Balcón.

Habitaciones amplias y vistas muy bonitas, comida bastante buena pero la verdad que era muy repetitiva, con respecto a la limpieza pondría un pero, no me cambiaron las sabanas en 4 días que nos diéramos cuenta, el tema de las hamacas es otro a las 8 de la mañana se llenan de toallas, y se tiran todo el día vacías evitando q otros puedan utilizarlas creo que tendrían que controlar más eso . Otra cosa importante q tenían q obligar a ponerse a todo el mundo igual q la mascarilla es obligatorialos guantes en el buffet, mucha gente encima de las bandejas sin organización y tocando las pinzas unos tras otros, creo q son momentos para poner más medidas, tendrían que servir los camareros para que nadie tocara nada, como en otros hoteles que nos hemos alojado, no obstante lo hemos pasado bien

Cosas positivas:· ubicacion· personal super amable en general todo el mundo super educado.· recepcion y zonas comunes muy cuidado.Cosas Negativas:· Me esperaba mas variedad en el buffet. repetitivo y poca variedad.· Habitaciones que le hacen falta una reforma· Ningun detalle por ser cliente con tarjeta riu class ninguna bebida en minibar ni nada de bienvenida poco detalle· De lo peor el tema Aparcamiento. El hotel no te deja reservar con antelacion (Siendo de pago) y la zona para aparcar es malisima, aparcamos el coche y no lo pudimos mover solamente nos movimos con taxis... asi que si vas si aparcas en la calle no lo muevas.Posiblemente repetiria pero seguramente me fuese a otra cadena que algunas tienen menos marca y tienen mas detalle con el cliente.

Ya son 3 veces, que paso aqui, parte de mis vacaciones y seran muchas mas, por muchos motivos, buena ubicación, limpieza, comida muy aceptable, etc etc... Pero sobre todo, por el buen trato de todo el personal, recepcionistas, camareros, cocineros, camareras de pisos, limpiadores, socorristas etc etc... Asi, que recomiendo este hotel, si quereis unas vacaciones sin sorpresas.

Hemos pasado 3 dias maravillosos, hotel en primera linea de playa, las instalaciones muy buenas cuidadas y muy limpias, habitación completamente nueva, la mejor ducha que he probado en mucho tiempo. Comida estupenda y personal encantador y profesionales al 100% destacando en recepción a Lola, cuando se jubile el sector perderá a una gran profesional, muchas gracias por todo volveremos!!!

Llamo para hacer reserva para hospedarme está semana y una sra muy antipática me dice q no hay disponibilidad y me cuelga , vuelvo a llamar y me dice un caballero q lo haga por internet y me cuelga también y luego están todo el día bombardeandome a publicidad para q haga una reserva....no lo entiendo ...bueno ya estoy alojada en otro hotel cuya amabilidadno tiene nada q ver.

En esta ocasión estaba cerrado...en años anteriores te dejan muy claro que de niños nada (por sus precios) extranjeros y de edad avanzada a ser posible. Has de aguantar todas las noches a la banda de turno hasta las 12 de la noche. La piscina para mi parecía un cementerio de elefantes.. Para mayores de 60 años es este hotel. Mi impresión. Repito en 2020 estaba cerrado como es normal. Años anteriores así lo viví.

From the welcome at reception to our checking out a week later staff were friendly, cheerful and helpful. We stayed 9 - 16 February 2020. There was a good choice of food which was beautifully prepared and presented. Delicious! We particularly enjoyed the ambience and food at the a’la Carte restaurant. We were very grateful for our room upgrade. The room was very spacious, comfortable and had a great view. The hotel was spotlessly clean. Thanks to all for a wonderful stay. I highly recommend the Riu Monica.

Although this Hotel is for Adults only, the big downfall is that nearly all the other guests were old (60+) which made the atmosphere very stuffy and square with disapproving looks if you didn't look like them or splashed to loudly in the pool. Another thing that I disliked was the sunbeds are many and crammed together. It was like being packed in like sardines. Another ridiculous and outdated practice was insisting on men wearing trousers at dinner. No shorts allowed from mid September. I dislike silly, stuffy rules when I'm on holiday. However, if you like dinner with the Living Dead, then it's perfect.

It is impossible to fault the friendly and very attentive staff or the cleaniness of the hotel and grounds. It was primarily occupied by mature residents. The food was good. The entertainment was disappointing. Ricky Lavazza was, by far the best. He interacted well with the audience and, much to our relief, had a different playlist from the previous week. The flamenco dancers were also good. There were 2 male soloists and an Abba tribute duo. Their performances were exactly the same the second week. This meant that we endured the male vocalist acts four times and Abba twice.They lacked any personality or enthusiasm. The entertainment only lasts 45 mins to an hour. If you are on the second sitting for dinner, you miss the start of it. The younger hotel manager was fantastic working his way around the hotel. I've given 5 stars because of the staff.

The location is really good, as its next to the sea, with easy access to to town.The staff are fantastic, helpful, friendly, efficient and happy.The food is brilliant for this kind of hotelThe selection is amazing and they don't rely on cooking in sauces to keep food out for longer, preferring to cook fresh instead. The chefs are friendly and approachable as well as being great chefs.The rooms are lovely, cleaned every day and the hotel is kept clean and well presented.I'd recommend this hotel to anyone.

Fabulous hotel. Great location next to the beach. We had a wonderful room on 6th floor overlooking the sea - fantastic. Food great , plenty of choice available. Excellent customer service from all staff and cleaning staff kept the room spotless, good air conditioning in each room. We will definitely go back next year.10 minute walk to the Balcon area with lovely little shops winding through the streets. Best holiday we bookedfor some years.

This hotel is what it should be, modern, cleen, good food, nice staff. No place is perfect and I'm not one to pick up on incidental points but does lack a little character especially around the bar area. Just an idea, the clearing areas in the restaurant create a lot of noise around the tables if this was given some thought it would make the dining experience more enjoyable, just something to think about. Highly recommended for great relaxing holiday. Just returned home today June 27th after our third visit.

Two evening meal sittings, 1830 and 2015. Çhoose sitting when first meal. Table number allocated. Any where for breakfast. To confirm Engish tv available, BBC1, ITV1, BBC World news and Sky News International.

We stayed for a week at the end of January in this fabulous hotel. When we arrived we were greeted with a drink and very efficient reception staff checked us in. The hotel is very clean and the room was too. The restaurant served a variety of food all of which was cooked to a high standard and plenty of it. We chose to eat later but there was never a shortage of food.The Spanish restaurant which we booked three evenings offers an intimate dining experience. The staff in this restaurant were very attentive making sure that the evening was special and again the food was exceptional.We would like to express our thanks to everyone at the hotel who made our stay pleasurable. Our special thanks go to Miguel on reception who was very knowledgeable and informative. Thanks also go to the lady who cleaned our room which she did to a very high standard.

The Riu Monica really deserves a great review. As an experienced critic I found it very difficult to find fault. Renovated 2 years ago it still looks shiny and is a credit to management and staff.Clean and comfortable rooms, some have great views. Obliging staff, excellent choice of quality food.The hotel is well positioned for shops and bars which are all friendly and reasonable priced if a change of scenery is required.The hotel has 2 swimming pools one inside. There is also a gym which is well kitted out, all of which are clean and well managed.In the front of the hotel facing the sea is a lovely promenade for a very enjoyable walk.I am pleased to highly recommend the Monica a true 4⛤ hotel in every department,

If you're looking for a relaxed, quiet holiday, this is it. We have visited in February for a bit of winter sun and we had a great time. There are no night clubs or late open restaurants and bars. The view from the hotel room is great. The room is OK... Could be much better for the 4* rating. No tea and coffee facilities and no shampoo and conditioner in the room. Another thing to think about before booking is that there are only 5 rooms in this hotel that offer a doubke/King size bed! All other rooms have 2 beds put together which is very surprising as most people coming here are couples. This is an adult only hotel! Everyone at the bar and restaurant are lovely and work really hard to make costumers happy

The staff are great here. Maybe it's just the Spanish people but the most friendly welcome and service I've had anywhere. Shame this experience does flow over to slow WiFi hidden behind unnecessary gateway and locks you out with more than a couple devices. Not at all possible to video call family and friends. Hotel seems to have been built the wrong way around with emergency stair case facing the beach where the prime apartments should be. Views are amazing in the top 3-4 floors. If you wish for a double bed book in advance as there is only a handful in the whole hotel the majority of rooms are 2xtwin beds pushed together. All in all a good experience but not a hotel built for the modern traveller.

This is our 4th stay at this hotel. Since refurbishment it has a very modern touch to it as opposed to a more Spanish feel before. Nevertheless this is a very well appointed hotel with very good facilities both inside and outside. The bedrooms are spacious with excellent partial sea views and roomy balconies. There is a wide variety of food to suit all tastes. Evening entertainment varies between poor and average. I would always recommend this hotel and will hopefully return.

The breakfast and dinner buffet are amazing, sufficient options for vegetarians :) If they would upgrade the gym and indoor pool (with a sauna maybe?), they would definitely get 5 stars!

Lovely hotel. Adults only. When l was there mainly retired and middle aged couples. Food a little bland for my taste but plentiful. Small, well maintained gym and a outside and heated inside, winter only, swimming pools. The inside pool is deep with no shallow end. Staff extremely helpful.

En primera línea de playa. La habitación mar balcón la mejor por sus vistas directas al mar y la playa. El buffet no es lo más adecuado para los tienpos de covid. Todo el mundo toca las pinzas, algunos cogen y dejan platos y hay mucha gente en el comedor. Además no hay mucha variedad de comida como en otros hoteles de 4 estrellas.

El hotel no cumple las medidas de distanciamiento social en el comedor. Tanto para el desayuno como para la cena, las mesas están muy juntas unas de otras incumpliendo las distancias. Conservando el buffet libre con el riesgo que conlleva 150 personas levantadas alrededor de los platos.
